Arrest History in Fulton County
Fulton County arrests may be made by the Sheriff, Atlanta Police, South Fulton Police, Sandy Springs Police, another city department, MARTA Police, campus police, Georgia State Patrol, or another agency with arrest authority. The agency creates the arrest report. If the person is delivered to a Fulton detention facility, Sheriff detention staff create a separate booking transaction. That distinction tells the reader where to ask for the narrative and where to ask about custody.
Fulton County booking data reaches back to 2014 in the public daily dataset. It is not a complete life history. City detention, contract jails, older records, citations without county booking, and later court outcomes require other channels. A statewide GCIC record adds fingerprint-linked arrest cycles and reported outcomes, while a court docket shows the prosecution.
Fulton Daily Booking Dataset
The official Fulton County Jail Bookings Public dataset covers admissions to Fulton detention facilities since 2014 and updates daily. It lists booking date and time, booked-at facility, delivering law-enforcement agency, and, when released, release date, release time, and release reason. A related aggregate dataset groups total bookings and releases by month or delivery agency.
Use the delivering-agency field as a routing tool. If Atlanta Police delivered the person, APD may hold the incident and arrest narrative. The sheriff holds the county jail transaction. Neither record replaces the other. Charge and bond information may be available through Arrest Inquiry or by calling 404-613-2002 or 404-662-3516.
How to Look Up Fulton County Arrests
No single official search contains every Fulton County arrest record. Start with the source closest to the event, then follow its identifiers into the next system.
- Search the daily booking dataset for the date, booked-at facility, and delivering agency.
- Use Arrest Inquiry or call the sheriff’s charge and bond lines when the open dataset lacks current custody detail.
- Request the arrest narrative from the delivering agency, not automatically from Fulton County.
- Search the proper municipal, State, Superior, or Magistrate court for filed charges and outcome.
- For statewide self-review, inspect a GCIC history or use the authorized fingerprint route; submit a written open-records request when the needed local record is not online.
The Fulton Sheriff open-records channel covers sheriff-held records. Under the Georgia Open Records Act, a request should identify an existing record with enough detail to locate it. The law does not require an office to create a new summary. If material is withheld, the response should cite the applicable exemption.

From Booking to GCIC History
For a fingerprintable offense, the arresting agency sends fingerprints and arrest data to the Georgia Crime Information Center. An Originating Agency Case Number and Offender Tracking Number help link the arrest cycle to prosecutor, court, correctional, probation, and parole submissions. That link is strong, but it is not instant. Missing fingerprints, mismatched identifiers, and late dispositions can leave gaps.
The GBI criminal-history FAQ explains official access, inspection, correction, and record restriction. The pictured GBI page is the official source for Georgia arrest-history review and correction rules.

Use a GCIC inspection for statewide self-review, then take source documents to the submitting agency when data needs correction.
Note: “No disposition” can mean reporting lag or a missing submission, not necessarily an open Fulton County case.
What Fulton County Arrest Records Show
A booking entry is an intake snapshot. It helps identify an event and current or recent custody, but the police report and court file provide the narrative and outcome.
| Booking Number | Identifies the Sheriff detention transaction. |
|---|---|
| Booking Date & Time | Shows when Fulton County custody began. |
| Arresting or Delivering Agency | Points to the office likely holding the incident or arrest report. |
| Charges | Lists intake allegations that may later change. |
| Bond | Records bond information available through inquiry; it is not a disposition. |
| Booking Photo Policy | Release requires Fulton County’s statutory-use affirmation process. |
| Release Status | Shows custody release timing and reason when published. |
Compare names with booking time, facility, agency, and identifiers. A common name alone is too weak for a reliable match.
Fulton Booking Photo Affirmation
Georgia law limits certain booking-photograph requests. Fulton County requires an affirmation addressing the requester’s intended use before releasing a booking image through the records process. The rule is designed to prevent prohibited commercial publication practices. This page does not republish arrest photos or identify arrestees.
Ask for the underlying booking record if the image is not necessary. A narrow request often reduces delay and keeps the inquiry focused on date, facility, charge, bond, or release. The booking photo does not prove guilt and adds no court disposition.
Recent Fulton Arrests and Booking Logs
The daily booking dataset is Fulton County’s strongest source for recent county detention events. Entries can roll into the data after intake, and release data appears when processed. Absence from a current jail inquiry does not prove that no prior booking occurred. Likewise, a 2014-forward dataset cannot answer every historical question.
For charge and bond details, call 404-613-2002 or 404-662-3516, or use the main jail lobby. Fulton County Jail is at 901 Rice Street NW. The Marietta Annex is listed at 781 Marietta Boulevard, and the South Annex Jail is at 6500 Watson Street in Union City. Confirm the precise housing location before travel.
Weekend intake can affect timing. Initial appearance generally occurs within 24 hours of arrival, but weekend scheduling may differ. A Monday court event should not be read as proof that booking occurred that day.
City Arrests Need Agency Routing
An arrest inside Fulton County does not guarantee that the county jail or sheriff holds the first record. Atlanta maintains city detention channels, and felony or pretrial transfers may later move to Fulton custody. South Fulton’s municipal materials link East Point Jail, but that link does not prove every city arrestee is held there. Sandy Springs has used intergovernmental jail arrangements, including a June 2026 Alpharetta agreement and older Pickens County and Smyrna arrangements.
Check the delivering agency and booked-at facility first. Then call the city police or court, check the named contract jail, and search Fulton Sheriff after a transfer. The Atlanta Police Open Records Unit is the right route for APD narratives, while Fulton Sheriff remains the source for its own jail entry.
Fingerprint Review Through GAPS
Georgia Applicant Processing Service uses IdentoGO by IDEMIA for authorized fingerprint checks. Since February 3, 2025, the GAPS registration portal has required the supplied service code to begin the applicable workflow. The user registers, selects a print site and appointment, and presents valid photo identification. Fees depend on the authorized service code and should be read at checkout.
The official GAPS interface pictured below shows where service-code registration begins.

GAPS serves authorized fingerprint purposes and self-review routes; it is not a public browse-by-name arrest gallery.
Fulton Arrests and State Custody
A person serving a Georgia prison sentence may appear in the GDC Find an Offender search. That state locator is not the Fulton County jail roster. It covers state-sentenced custody and published offender status, while Fulton County records cover local booking and detention.
The GDC image below marks that separate sentenced-offender channel.

Search Fulton County first for a recent local booking, then use GDC only when the case produced a state correctional sentence.
Fulton Arrests vs Convictions
An arrest records police action and jail intake. A conviction records a court finding. They come from different custodians and can end differently.
| Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|
| Created by arresting agency and jail | Created by the trial court |
| Shows an arrest or booking occurred | Shows a guilty outcome was entered |
| Lives with police, sheriff, and GCIC submissions | Lives with the clerk and reported state history |
| May end with release, no charge, dismissal, or later prosecution | May lead to sentence, appeal, First Offender treatment, or restriction |
Note: An arrest is not proof of guilt; filed charges may change, and a case may end without conviction.
The signed Fulton County judgment is the best source for the final court result. A contextual review of Fulton County criminal court cases can connect a booking to its filed charge and disposition.
